This letter enables you to notify a local authority wishing to make a local connection referral that your council accepts the referral (i.e. that you accept the statutory referral conditions are satisfied).

The letter can be used whether the referral is being made:

• under section 198(A1) of the Housing Act 1996 (i.e. the s.189B relief duty will be owed), or
• under section 198(1) (i.e. the main s.193(2) housing duty will be owed).
