File note recording reasons for not ending relief duty despite 56 days having passed

A form for recording your reasons for not ending the s.189B(2) homelessness relief duty, where 56 days have passed since you were first satisfied the applicant was homeless and eligible for assistance.

You may wish to record your reasons on the applicant's housing file record if:

  • Reasonable steps have not yet been taken to help the applicant to obtain accommodation, and/or
  • Inquiries into priority need or intentionality are continuing, to determine what duty is owed when the relief duty ends.
