Pre-claim letter - requesting refund of tenancy deposit paid by council, because landlord not complied with protection requirements

If a council has paid tenancy deposit money to a private landlord to secure accommodation, and the landlord fails to protect the deposit and/or serve a prescribed information notice, the council - as a 'relevant person' - may make a claim against the landlord.

This letter warns the landlord of the council's intention to make a claim in the county court for return of the deposit money and for compensation, if the deposit money is not returned.
