Ending the s73 relief duty and s68 interim accommodation duty / reasonable steps taken within 56 days / priority need / young person household / intentionally homeless for 2nd time

A letter to notify a homeless applicant that they are not owed the full duty because, despite having a young person in their household, they've become homeless intentionally for a second time.

Use this letter when:

  • The relief duty has ended because you've decided - before the 56th day of relief - that reasonable steps have been taken to help the applicant obtain suitable accommodation.
  • The applicant has a priority need because the household contains a dependent child, pregnant woman or young person.
  • The applicant has become intentionally homeless for a second time.
  • In the last five years the applicant was secured an offer of accommodation, following acceptance of the full duty under s.75(3).
