Ending relief duty and interim accommodation duty because applicant unreasonably refused to co-operate / no priority need / no further duty owed

A letter for notifying a homeless applicant that both the s.189B relief duty and s.188 interim accommodation duty have ended because they have deliberately and unreasonably refused to take a compulsory step in their housing plan.

This particular letter is for when:

  • you provided interim accommodation as well as accepting the relief duty, and
  • you have decided the applicant does not have a priority need,

and therefore

  • no further homelessness duty is owed.

Alternative letters are available if you're ending the relief duty because of non-cooperation in the following circumstances:

The letter assumes you have already given the applicant the 'relevant warning' notice and given him or her a reasonable period of time to carry out the steps in their housing plan.
