This template letter enables you to end the s.73 relief duty where the applicant has refused suitable accommodation.

To end the duty on this basis you must be satisfied that:

  • the applicant has refused accommodation;
  • the accommodation was suitable for the applicant and members of his or her household;
  • the accommodation offered is likely to be available for the applicant's occupation for at least six months from when the (end of duty) notification is sent; and
  • prior to refusing the offer the applicant was notified of the possible consequences of accepting or refusing the offer.
