Section 184 decision - not in priority need / main duty not owed / applicant not in TA / end of relief duty

A letter for notifying a homeless applicant that they don't have a priority need when 56 days have passed since you were first satisfied that the applicant was homeless and eligible for assistance.

Use this letter when the applicant was not owed the interim s.188 duty and so isn't occupying temporary accommodation secured by the council.

Notes:

Other letters are available (see 'Related documents') and should be used instead if:

  • 56 days have not yet passed, or
  • the applicant is occupying s.188 interim accommodation, and you therefore need to ask the applicant to vacate temporary accommodation.
