Use this letter template to:

• notify another local authority that you consider the local connection referral conditions are met in respect of an applicant who has applied to your council as homeless, and
• request that they confirm whether they agree that the referral conditions are met.

The letter includes alternative paragraphs depending whether:

• the relief duty would otherwise be owed, or
• the main housing duty would otherwise be owed.

Note: this template should be used in conjunction with the standard referral request form contained in the Local Authorities' Agreement ("Procedures for Referrals of Homeless Applicants to Another Local Authority").
