If a council has paid tenancy deposit money to a private landlord to secure accommodation, and the landlord fails to protect the deposit and/or serve a prescribed information notice, the council - as a 'relevant person' - may make a claim against the landlord.
This letter warns the landlord of the council's intention to make a claim in the county court for return of the deposit money and for compensation, if the deposit money is not returned.
