This letter enables you to forward details of a homeless applicant's case to social services, where the applicant has consented to a referral under section 213A of the Housing Act 1996.

A referral under s.213A does not have to done by letter. However, homeless officers may find it useful to do so.

The letter includes a brief explanation for social workers of why the referral is being made (i.e. that you're duty bound to do so under section 213A(2)(b)).
