Requesting tenancy deposit payment to perform 'reasonable steps' duty under section 66 prevention or section 73 homeless relief duty
This letter enables you - if you're representing or supporting a homeless applicant in Wales - to write to the council and suggest that they fund a tenancy deposit and support an application for a discretionary housing payment (DHP) so a client without sufficient financial resources is able to obtain a private tenancy.
The letter also asks the council to provide a copy of any policy they have governing how the discretion to make a 'homelessness prevention payment' is exercised.
