Section 184 decision - accepting main s.193 housing duty - applicant remaining homeless at home
A letter for notifying a homeless applicant that the relief duty has ended, and they:
have a priority need
are not intentionally homeless, and
are owed the main duty.
Use this particular letter where:
You will be meeting the main housing duty by the applicant remaining 'homeless at home', i.e. they will be continuing to occupy the accommodation 'from which they were homeless'; while the accommodation is not reasonable to continue to occupy indefinitely, you have decided that it remains suitable for the applicant, for the time being.
The letter explains:
That the applicant can request alternative accommodation, and raise concerns if they consider the accommodation is unsuitable, or if their circumstances change.
That they cannot simply be left 'homeless at home' indefinitely.
That the council will review the suitability of the arrangement in due course.
That they have a right to request a review of the suitability of the accommodation.
The circumstances in which the main duty will end.
